Why was bank served garniment of accounts and not me
I got a notice from my bank that I was getting my savings and checking accounts garnished however I was not served papers. Shouldn't we be served too?

    Hello m:

No. You have NO ability to stop it, and that would be the only reason to give you notice...

No you are not served notice, your notice or at least your wake up call that they can do so would be when they sued you and got a judgement. Once they got a judgement then they can get a garnishment. So after you were sued and they got a judgement, this should not have really been a surprise

That depends. Were you aware that a judgment had been awarded against you? If you were, then you would receive no prior notice of the attachment of your assets.

However, if you had no knowledge of the judgement, then you may get the motion vacated on the grounds of improper service.
