    You say to use caulk... but what kind of caulk?

    If you are installing a MAAX shower strainer then you can use almost any silicone caulking available (clear is probably best), but be sure to let it dry as indicated on the tube before running any water to test the installation, OK?

    Finally, are you installing the shower base in a bed of mortar or some kind of bedding substrate? Check the inbstallation instructions to see what they recommend.
