Physics Problem: Angular Momentum & Rotational Force
A billiard ball of radius "a" and mass "m" is initially spinning counterclockwise about a horizontal axis with angular speed ω0=-v0/a and with a forward speed v0. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the ball and the billiard table is μ.

    Given [a, m, v0, μ]

    Determine:

    a. The distance the ball travels before slippage ceases.

    b. The time before slippage ceases.

    c. The linear acceleration of the ball while slipping.

    d. The angular acceleration of the ball while slipping.

    e. The velocity of the ball when slippage ceases.

Determine the work lost to friction while slipping using two different methods. (They should be equal).

    1. W=-fs where s is the distance the ball slips, not the distance the ball travels.

    2. W=Δkt+Δkr.
