How do you adjust the pressure switch on a Utilitech 3/4hp Jet Pump?
I think I messed up the standard adjustment of the Utilitech Pump which is set at 20/40 from the factory. Now I can't get the pump to stay on since I adjusted it? Curious if anyone knew any tricks?

I replaced a well diophram with a unititech 25gal diophram. The pressure gauge is set at 30 PSI cutoff is set at between 15 and 20 PSI. When the water is turned on the gauge goes from 30 to 20psi pump pumping repeatedly. Until pressure returns to 30psi. I put a tire gauge on the air valve on top and it shows 30PSI what do I do to get the pressure to drop to 20 psi and the pump to refill to 30psi consistently.

Hi daltbue and Welcome to The Plumbing Page. At AskMeHelpDesk.com. You're responding to a 1 year old dead thread. Look in then upper left hand corner of the first post form the date in the first post before you post, Thanks,
I don't understand your question. I figured out that an "well diaphragm" is a bladder tank and "the pressure gage" might just be the control box but from there on in you lost me.
A control box is set at 20 PSI cut in and 40 PSI cut out.
The bladder tank should be charged at 28PSI and the tank is charger after the pump's shut off and the pressure's bled off by opening a cold water faucet?
Sounds like someone's been fooling with the control box but if you're happy with 30 PSI I have no problem with that. Charge the bladder tank correctly and get back to me with the results. Good luck, Tom

Short cycling could be caused by improperly adjusted switch but not likely. More likely caused by tank problems or improperly pressurized bladder tank.
Describe what you have done installing this pump.

My bet is on a faulty check or foot valve. Does the pump. Does the pump hold prime? Back to you, Tom
