    1996 Explorer Air Conditioner
    1996 Explorer A/C trouble. The compressor continually cycles on and off. On for 10 seconds, off for 30 seconds. I added about 10 ounces of refrigerant to the system with no change. I am lost...

    Have you checked with a gauge to see if you have the right amount of refrigerant in the system because if you have to little or too much refrigerant it will causes the compressor to cycle erratically. The refrigerant also helps to cool the compressor to and also check to make sure the engine cooling fan is operating properly and make sure the condenser coils are clean and free of debris if none of those have it checked out at a local trustworthy repair shop good luck
