I have a 9 year old Kenmore 110.23822100 washer and it doesn't work. Here is what's happening. It doesn't go to the rinse cycle, therefore the water doesn't drain out. Of course it then won't go through the spin cycle either. I tried it on other settings like Permanent Press and others, but it still won't rinse. In addition, when I lift the lid, it looks like the agitator isn't working. I can spin it with my hands easily, it looks like it won't agitate the clothes.

So I have some questions. Does anyone know what the problem may be? If so, is it a cheap and easy fix? Is it cheaper for me to just buy a new washer? I'm not sure what a repair man will charge. I'd rather fix it because I really don't have the extra money for a new one. What should I do?

One last question, does anyone know how many cubic feet my washer is? It doesn't say anything on the washer or the paperwork.

Not sure if you ever got your answer to this question, but I have the same model and basically mine had the same issue once before. I found that it is the switch to the lid. I bought the part for about $30 and it was an easy replacement. Washers started spinning again.
