    Thank you, excon, for doing your part to allow me to live in a free country. And like Chuck said, thank you to those I know and to all the nameless military people and their families who have sacrificed in all sorts of ways for the rest of us.

    Thank you, Stephen for your service.

    It is too bad that more Americans do not recognize Memorial Day for what it really is.

    No, it's not a day to not work, get a good deal at a local store, have a cookout or drink in excess.

    It's a day to do something special to recognize a) the over 1 million Americans who have lost their lives in service to our Country and b) the tens of millions of others who have and are serving in our armed forces.
