Beagle dog refuses to pee outside.
I have a 4 year old female beagle who has always refused to go to the bathroom outside, even if out for hours. She also gets mad if I am out and will pee in front of my closet. (Yes, I do keep door closed) I have taken her to the vet to check for health issues, and she is fine. The vet says she has sensory issues. I have tried everything. I have 2 other beagles in the home, and they all use potty pads while I am at work, but she is the only one who does these things. Any ideas??
    Thank you!

dogdog123, this is a professional site, please treat it as such.

Momsgirl, I have quite a few questions for you (sorry)...
Does she use the potty pads at all?
I find potty pads can often confuse them. They are allowed to pee in the house, but at the same time they get in trouble for it. Some dogs have trouble connecting the fact they are ONLY allowed to go on the pad.

Has she always done this or is it a recent problem?
Some dogs pick up on the tiniest changes around the home. Extra visitors, new pets, changed work schedules etc and their behavior will change as a result.

And finally, what is your training routine?
Are you training her the same way now as you would when she was a puppy?
When a dog suddenly changes their peeing habits sometimes you have to go back to square 1 with their training.
Back to taking them out every hour, plenty of walks and free-time outside before bed etc.

I know how frustrating the problem can be. I had a male who would, every chance he got, sneak into our bedroom and pee on our bed. Our solution unfortunately was not in training, but in desexing, but hopefully we can help you overcome this annoying problem.

Tina Joy started her "pee" problems when she got spayed. She was almost 2, I let her have one litter and when they were weaned I spayed her. That is when all her problems started. I have never heard of this before.
I teach and I am now home for the summer. I starting over with the training. I am taking her outside every hour and "crating" her in the kitchen.
Tina's daughter Casey just passed away 2 weeks ago. I am traumatized, however I haven't seen any sign that she is looking for her at all. I am trying to give her lots and lots of attention, but she pushes away, comes to me on her terms.
Before Tina was spayed, she used the potty pads all the time, and well. Now she will go 6 inches from them, and pee on the floor.
    It is frustrating!
Thank you so much for your time!
