Kitchen sink faucet not operating properly.
When I turn on the faucet on my kitchen sink, it always shakes for a few seconds before the water starts to come out, as if the water has drained from the pipes. At first the water dribbles out then in a second or two it starts to flow normally. This problem is becoming progressively worse by the day. I think it might have to do with the sprayer that is a part of the faucet. I almost never use it and when I do try to use it the water just barely comes out. It sprays out very weakly. How can I fix this problem?

There is a stand pipe that goes to the roof but it was capped in the wall where I believe it was originally vented. Is there a reason this was done. I did'nt have a problem with a slow drain before but am curious about why this was done. I do have a smell now with the current drain that I have....
