    Major sump draining issues
    Ok so here it is...
The previous homeowners had a basement waterproofing system with French drains and a sump pump installed... poorly! The system looks terrible but worse yet is draining illegally into the down spouts and when it rains heavy the water backs up threw the basement floor drains... with quite some pressure! All the floor drains are capped and water still seaps threw and now maybe being pushed up threw the concrete floor itself... I have dug up the connection at the downspout its about 2.5ft below the ground level. I want to disconnect the 2 and bring the run off from the roof, and sump discharge into the yard, but Im concerned if I extend the vertical sump discharge freezing may occur in the winter due to the check valve inside... do I just remove the check valve and let the about 7 ft of vertical pipe drain back into the sump when it kicks off... or will this keep the pump running all the time? Any suggestions would be appreciated
