What should I look for in my plumber's proposal to install 1/2 bath off my kitchen
What should I look for in my plumber's proposal for installing a new half bath off my kitchen? I want to be sure that nothing is left out of the job, before agreeing to the job. Thank you.

Samantha829, you want to make sure that proposal includes at least the following:

    1. Start date
    2. Completion date
    3. How much it will cost you
    4. What is included
    5. What is excluded
    6. What type / kind / brand of materials he will use
    7. Who supplies plumbing fixtures / if plumber does than brand names, model numbers and finishes.
    8. His license number
    9. His insurance (liability and worker's comp, also bond )
    10. What time of the day he plans on start and finish every day
    11. Does he work every day of the week ? Saturdays ?
    12. How long does he guarantee his work for ?
    13. Spell out exactly what is he going to do
    14. Ask for 3 references (... and actually call them to verify his work )
    15. In case of extras, how will he go about charging them to you

These are just few essentials you should look for in his estimate. Get few estimates and compare them and contrast. Plumber with good intentions will include as much information as possible.

Good luck with your project... Let us know how it went... Milo
