    Menstrual cycle
I'm 20 years old. I started my period a week early this month. It was pretty normal for the first three days with mild cramps and headaches but it had a lot of blood clots. On day 4 it got pretty heavy. I am now on day 5 and its still heavy with no clots. This it not normal for me because I've never seen that many clots and its usually lighter by now. Please help me! I am very worried that its something very serious.

Most likely it is just an unusual period this cycle. You may have had more tissue built up than usual, hence the heavier bleeding and clotting. It may even go a day or so longer than your norm.

If you were to have continued bleeding for an extended time, or start having repeated unusual cycles, then you would want to see your doctor for an exam.

You could always see your doctor for the peace of mind.
