    Tax
I came on H1B visa to Pennsylvania State in June 2006. My wife and kid too came along with me on a H4 visa.
    I have a SSN.
I believe I need to file a ITIN number for both my wife and kid with form W7.
Do I need to go in person along with my wife and kid for filling in W7 ? Ca I e-file my returns this year ?
How many days in calender year 2006 do my wife and kid need to spend in US for me to be eligible to claim deduction for them.
My H1B visa expired in July 2006, but I applied for an extension and now have a valid visa till July 2009 , but its not stamped on my passport. I would get it stamped when I go to India later this year for vacation.
So do I need to carry a copy of the petition as well ?
I do not have a hard copy of W2. So do I need to take a printout of my W2 and download W7 and send them together ? Under what status do I need to file ? My spouse is not working.
    Please advise.

Yes, you need ITINs for your wife and child.

W-7s are normally mailed to the IRS center at Bensalem, PA, but it may be possible to do it in person. Contact your local IRS center to see if it is possible. You will NOT be able to efile this year's return.

It does not matter how long your wife is here. The child must be in the U.S for six months, which your child has been.

A printout of the W-2 is fine, just as long as the data is accurate.

You file as a resident alien filing jointly with your spouse (Married Filing Jointly).
