    Oline 62. We have no idea what caused your motor to blow! There are many parts that could cause a blown motor. It could be an armature, windings, brush assembly, bearings, etc. In some cases, you can replace the bearings. If you need a new motor, it may be cheaper to wait till HD puts a saw on sale. Look on Craigslist, there are Dewalt tools on sale there.
