    Please post what you have tried so far so we can better help you.

    At the very least, try to come up with the two equations. This can be done by "translating" the sentences into algebraic terms.

    For example, "five plus four equals nine".

    5 + 4 = 9.

    You basically have something like this... but instead of just numbers, there's also an x and a y.

    You shouldn't just give someone the answer when they ask for homework help. That isn't helping.

    I agree, answers do not help students, they need to do the work and learn the steps to solve. X + Y = 60 and y= x + 4. You say x+y=60 right off so I guess you know this part. Then you say "number is 4 more than another" so that means y=x+4. Now try putting this altogether into one equation.
