    Double meter can socket?
I have a question.. I am a licensed electrician and wanted to know if I can have two separate meters on my house , a double meter service one for the storage shed separate from the house meter.. what it is is that I want to feed a 100 amp service to the shed panel and a 200 amp to the exhisting house panel that I already got.. can I just change out the single 200 amp meter socket and install a double 200 amp meter socket in its place.. is this possible? Reason for my asking is because I have never done a double metered service on a house yet.. I hope to get an answer that answers my question

Yes, you can have two meters on one building. Consider apartment buildings with multiple tenants. What you can have only one of is a service drop, which can feed multiple services/meters.

Keep in mind, with an extra meter for your use, you will be paying for the monthly service charge for the extra meter, along with paying for the power.

If you can have one meter for both home and shed, you would save the monthly service charge, and the power would be accumulated into one bill, and usually this alone saves money.

Check with your utility company how KWH are billed.
