Problems with Harbor Breeze fan and light.
I bought a harbor Breeze ceiling fan with 5 lights a couple years ago installed it had no problems until now, the first problem was after putting in a new light bulb the bulb would only stay lit if you held it a certain way, but if you let go it wouldn't stay lit.Now I had a light bulb bust in another socket and the light bulb had been in there awhile, it just busted so I have turned the light off and don't know what to do with it I mean should I get a new fan?

You don't need a new fan. You can remove a busted bulb buy sticking a dole rod into the broken base, push hard and twist counterclockwise. Some sockets are cheaply made and arcing can happen, especially with fans due to vibration. Inspect the base of the removed bulb for black and gray ash. This must be cleaned with emery cloth, power of at the panel, also clean the new bulb base.

Thank - You for your answer, I bought the fan cause it had 5 lights I don't use the fan. I knowest the first problem was one of the sockets quit working, now the bulb busting in another socket this may have nothing to do with the other socket I relize. The best way to desribe what happens is when I screw in a light bulb and hold it a certain way the socket works but when I let go of the bulb it doesn't work. I did put a new bulb in the socket which had the busted bulb in it seems to be OK. My question is to you can a socket be fixed? Referring to the socket that won't work with just screwing a bulb in it. Thanks

I would not fix the socket but would replace it. This can be a real pain because its awkward to work on them while mounted to the ceiling, not fun removing to do the repairs either.
