I can't get my HP Photosmart C5580 All-in-One printer to work. I keep getting what I assume is an error message B81EC382. What does it mean and how do I fix it?

I have the C4680 and don't find that error code in my manual or on the HP site in a US search. You have to search each country individually.

The HP Photosmart is not my favorite printer. Errors abound, and the published fixes don't always work.
