    refraction
    a certain kind of glass with index of refraction =1.650 for blue light and index of refraction =1.610 for red light.if a beam of white light (containing all colors) is incident at an angle of 36.0,what is the angle between the red and blue light inside the glass?

    Snell's law says that the ratio of the sines of the incident and refracted angles is equal to the inverse of the ratio of the indices of refraction:



    You know the angle of incidence, , as well as the indices of refraction of the air and the glass. So all you have to do is plug all those values into Snell's law, and solve for the angle . Solve it once for the red light and again for the blue light. Then just subtract those two answers to find the angle between them.
