Help needed with Noma Programmable Thermostat
Our old UPM Programmable Thermostat starting acting strange last night. Although the heat was set to 20, the heater continued to pump hot air into the house until it was 26. We struggled to turn it offf and finally turned it off downstairs at the actual furnace. When I called for repair, I was told by two repair men that the thermostat was bad and to buy a new one. So we did. And now with our Noma 5+1+1 Thermostat, the problem is happening again. The repair men do not seem to want to help. What do we do? My husband is getting angrier and I need an answer ASAP. Thank you.

I have (had) a Noma thermostat. It worked for two years to the day on the warranty and then started cycling my blower on and off every 5 seconds when in the "off time". Enough to drive you insane. I recommend sending it back getting your money and buying something else. They are made by UPN marketing and they are pieces of crap. That said I had the same problem with a Honeywell model T8132A after a few years of work. Replacing batteries and reseting the unit do nothing. It is just made with a cheapy controler that I imagine is the same part made in China or something. I almost wish it was my furnace because then I could just fix it, but the thermostats keep crapping out after 2 years.

    Check the sticky at https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/heatin...ons-58313.html

Northern Heat has just added and reorganized advice that should help including making sure whether it is the thermostat or the furnace. Good luck.
