    Whirlpool dryer electrical smell barell not turning?
    Whirlpool dryer Model# LER762OLWO

    Funny squeaking sound, barrel not turning, electrical smell.

    What's the problem?

    Sounds to me like you have a broken belt or locked up motor. My money would be on the first. When you disassemble drier make sure to clean out all air passages by taking them apart, scraping them out, and then washing them out. The motor should be vacuumed out. Make sure to ohm out all safeties with an ohm meter because you probably burned one or two out when the belt broke if you tried to run it. Look on YouTube for instructions on how to take it apart.
