    Fingerprinting for new job offer?
Hi everyone! I am hoping someone here can help me!

I was offered a job by Bank of America. They would like me to start two weeks from this coming Monday. So, I need to put my two weeks notice in at my current job (either today or Monday) Anyway, I have an issue with doing this. My job offer is contingent on my fingerprint screening coming back satisfactory. Two years ago, when I was 17, I was arrested for domestic assault. (Me being flat out dumb) I was on probation for only 3 months, and when I completed probation, my record was "sealed". (Only courts/police can see it, prospective employers aren't supposed to be able to) I spoke to my probation officer yesterday about this situation, and he said that the only way that they would be able to see it is if they go through the FBI. And if they did see it, to contact him and he could give me the proper paperwork to show that it was closed or whatever. Well, I don't mention my record on any job applications/resumes/etc because I didn't think that I needed to. Does anyone know if Bank of America uses the FBI for fingerprinting? And what should I do in regards to my two-week-notice at this job? Thank you so much!

Where are you getting fingerprinted? It's "usually" at a Police Station/Department which accesses all records, including the FBI.

What was the question when you applied for the job? Were you ever arrested, were you ever convicted? Sounds like you were both arrested and convicted. I'd be more concerned about what could be considered a lie on an application than what the fingerprints will turn up.

I would NOT give notice to the current job because I think you very well could have a problem.

Oh no. This is what I was afraid of.

Just to get this out there, I do not like lying. I am really an honest person. The only reason that I didn't put this on my application was because I was told that I didn't have to. I didn't want to cause problems or open a can of worms if it wasn't necessary. Gosh that sounds awful.

    Thank you for answering.

Hello, I would like to know how this went for you as I have made it to the fingerprinting process and was advised to answer no on all conviction charges as well. I have a felony arrest that was dismissed due to served probation and I am worried about them rejecting me even though they have given me the offer of employment already. Thanks!
