    Punishment for first offense?
    My boyfriend who is 30 was caught stealing between 10 and 15 dollars worth of merchandise from walmart in princeton Indiana this is his first offense and he was taken to jail we are from chicago what will likely happen to him now

    Most likely he will get a fine and probation. He may also be offered a first offender program, where there is no record publicly after he completes it.

    The store may also ban him from the store for a period
