My cheating, alcoholic husband of 23 years who has now been a quadriplegic for the past 5 years due to a car accident wants to move out of the house and live in assisted living housing for the disabled. After his accident my friends and I converted the basement into an apartment for his living for easy access in and out of the house. I have been his primary caregiver since the accident to the point of pulling feces out of him every other night because he can not go on his own. I told him recently I was tired of all the work so he wants to "move on". Since then I was able to get two assistant caregivers to help with him so I feel he can just stay where he is. I also work full-time and we have one daughter who is still a full-time college student and another daughter who needs assistance with her bills. He gets SSD benefits which only covers 1/3 of the monthly bills. He feels "cheated" because he only gets $100/month pocket money. He wants to take his check and go live somewhere else and spend his money on himself. I assisted him in completing an application for one housing assistance. Now I am angry. He never helped much before his accident and now he wants to take the little help he is giving away. Now I want to divorce him. We have a mortgage together and a time share. I have two cars that are paid and he has a truck that I completed paying while he was in the hospital. How should I go about divorcing him?
