Ok so, I dated this guy for about 8 months and I have to say, I thought the relationship was really going somewhere. He seemed really into me and, of course, I was too. After after our 5th month together, we started fighting a lot. We fought about stupid little things and about not so stupid things but we just fought and fought. But the real problem started about three weeks ago at our school dance.

I don't really like dancing in the first place but, I seem to get unusually shy when he wants to dance with me. I start getting red and I just can't focus. So he asked me to dance and I tried but I felt so shy and I said I'm sorry but I can't and he seemed to get a little upset. After that, my friends asked me to dance with them and I didn't really want to so I just stood there but, eventually, I started dancing about with my friend Ana. When I got home, I checked my Facebook and I saw that he had been juking with girls the previous night at another party and I got upset so I confronted him about it and he got mad and called me many names and vice versa and we broke up.

The first day back to school after the break up was horrible. He would spread rumors saying how much I wrecked his life and how much I put him through and that I was the blame. I got tired of it and I just cried and cried until I told him to stop and he wouldn't until the following week when I apologized for everything. Basically, I'm not too affectionate because I was raped when I was younger and don't like men touching me too much and I have depression so I sometimes get too sensitive and overreact and I guess all that hurt him in a way and that's what he means when he says I put him through a lot.

After we both apologized, we became friends and I admitted I still had feelings for him and he said he also did because I was the only girl he ever truly loved and that he wanted me in his life and he wished we never broke up but that he wants to get his stuff straight so he just wants to be friends. I told him I wouldn't be able to do that and he respected that. Until recently, I found out he has been going out with a girl that I hate since the week after we broke up.I hate this girl because she has been trying to take him away from me by sending him little notes and flirting with him ever since we were together and he always told me he never liked her that way but, apparently, he does.

He told me he still loves me of course and that she has been there for him when I wasn't but I'm thinking, why go out with the girl I hate after only 2 weeks of our breakup? Is he trying to hurt me? I have been depressed and can't eat or sleep and people notice it but he seems fine yet, my friend says he is just trying to make me jealous because he is also hurting. Do I just get over him? Talk to him? What do I do? Why is he doing what he is doing?

I would really appreciate an answer, this is a very tough time for me, thank you for reading all this, words of encouragement reassurance would be nice also.

You start getting over him by living your own life and building a happy one for yourself-without him in it.

It doesn't matter what he does,what matters is how you handle yourself now,so move on and forget this mess.
