    Wikileaks exposed and people died
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman approached the US and offered to mediate between the US and the Taliban.

Wikileaks got their hands on diplomatic cables containing that information and released it to the public last week. Sunday,an Indian newspaper printed the WikiLeaks release that reveal Rehman had sent a message to the US embassy in New Delhi offering to mediate with the Taliban.

I thought Assange's leaks weren't going to put anyone at risk, that he is just a "legit journalist" out to save the world with the truth.

    Hello again,

I'm sure Manning is a twink, and Assange is a rapist. Uhhh, I don't care.

You argue that presenting the truth kills people.. I wouldn't deny that. I WOULD suggest, however, that HIDING the truth kills more.

    Hello again, tom:

I wouldn't presume to tell you that every news item does "good". Some stories, in fact, do the opposite. I WILL say that, in the main, the truth does more good than harm.

If the cables that wikileaks got a hold of were so delicate, perhaps they should have been encrypted, or hand delivered. That looks like a breach at the embassy. If Manning shouldn't have been granted a secret clearance, that looks like the fault of the military...

But, you guys just want to blame the messenger...

Yeah the Rosenbergs were just 'the messengers' when they gave nuclear secrets to the Soviets.

OK so we are all agreed Assange is a dill who should be locked up, but while we are at it could we lock up some other dills, like the people who thought it was a good idea to use over 200 Tomahawk missiles to suppress Libyian anticraft sites when one well placed Tomahawk would have settled the matter for all time. Now who might those dills be?
