I been on disability for 8 years. Can they put a levy on that money?
About 6 months ago a creditor cleaned me out, while I was out of the country on a emergency, and when I came back. I had no money. The bank told me I had to call the sherif's ofice, so I did they gave me the lawyers number, and they told that they have 20 years to collect.
My question is, I was told disability benefits are excemped from bank levys, and taxes.
Is that true? If so what can I do, if there is anything to do after 6 months..
