    What are the risks of getting a tattoo?
    Hey , I need help my aunt wants a tattoo but before she does I want to know what the risks are for it geeting infected.

    There is always risks but the steps on trying to prevent any is
    Get info and track record of tattooist
    Make sure the needles are NEW not just sterile or clean
    Tattooist must wear gloves
    After the tattoo is applied vaseline it daily
    And keep it out of direct sunlight

    Follows these and you will be fine

    Check for licensing requirements in your State. If the person is not licensed (and should be) find someone else.

    The best way to stop it getting infected would be to keep it clean, I have 13 tattoo's in all areas of my body, not one of them has been infected, as long as you go to a professional tattoo place you should be OK, they tell you how to look after the tattoo's as well.
