    Tile shower pan removal
    We are going to try and remove small tiles and metal framing from old shower floor. Shower has been removed. Can we do it outselves?

    Hi Cdowhan...

    What exactly are you trying to accomplish here? Are you trying to save the old shower pan?

    Also, what is this "metal framing" you are talking about... don't understand this?

    No, want to remove everything, it's like a curved metal thing around the edges of the tile shower floor. Friend says he has a "tool" that will chop up tiles.

    So you are removing the shower tiles and the entire shower floor and shower pan?

    If so, you'll need a small chipping hammer to make quick work of it. You could also use a sledgehammer, but the chipping hammer can be rented and makes quick work of these jobs... ;)

    Once you get the concrete out pop back and we can discuss how to disconnect the pipe from the shower pan, OK... ;)
