    Can I add my surname on to my sons even though he as his dads but we are not marryed?
    Can I give my son my surname so he as got a double barrel name as he already as his dads. Could I just add mine on

    ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

    Generally, however, a birth certificate is a legal document. To alter a legal document requires a court order. In this case it would also require the permission of the father.
