My friend totally ignored me and is acting strangely
My friend has been acting REALLY weird towards me.
I didn't see him in ages over the holidays but we were in weekly contact. When we saw each other again he was really happy to see me and affectionate, etc. But within a week he didn't speak to me as much anymore and now he doesn't at all. He even goes to the extent of ignoring me unless I directly address him and refused to sit next to me today.
I am assuming this might be because we are to opposite people. We have the same opinions but I'm really shy and take ages to make friends while he's made all these new ones and doesn't want to be my friend anymore. But we were good friends before so I don't really know why he's acting like this, help?

Ignore him back! He's a jerk and he's probably enjoying you chasing after his attention in front of all his new friends, don't give him the satisfaction! You don't need him!

It sounds like he's moved on from your friendship.

Sad as that may be,I think you hold your head high and ignore HIM.

Work on making new friends and find new interests in your life.

Ouch, you're harsh but honest. I needed that, thanks guys.
I know I should just ignore him back but we were really good friends before and got along really well, that's why I'm a bit weary about just dropping him like that.
Oh, what I forgot to add, I'm a girl.

Ima,it seems he has already dropped you as a friend,so at this point, I wouldn't worry too much about his feelings .

Be polite, but distant if you are in the same place at the same time.

I will assume by your SN that you are 18..

And he is also or close enough to call it the same age.

Again this is a guess but were you a bit tomboyish growing up? A lot of girls that have close friends that are males are.

If I am right about the first two , this is a certainty .
Have you lost all traces of ever being anything similar to a tomboy? And gained others ?`

If I missed this I'll apologize for thread theft.

I had a tomboy friend that when I met her I thought she said her name was Stan and she looked like a Stan , a skinny dude named Stan.
We were not real close friends but played baseball and kickball and set an occasional vacant lot on fire . Normal 5 th 6 th grade stuff.
The same day I met her I called her Stan for two hours before she told me it was Fran. Francis Larsen. :p
I was a bit embarrassed but ended up calling her Stan from then on till she moved away in 9th grade.

Halfway through 10th grade she called and said they were moving back and would be there Monday . This was on Friday.
Monday when I was looking for her I was suddenly smacked in the back of the head and heard her call me the name she retaliated with for her being called Stan . Hay, A$$hole you get uglier every year!

When I turned to smack her I was stunned. She had transformed into an angel complete with gossamer wings and a rack that I still see as if it were within reach.
After I regained my voice and could begin to close my eyes that had flown open so wide they stuck... almost...

I could never be around her much after that even though we had been fairly good buddies.
She had become way too hot for me to be able to ignore it enough to talk to her
And look anywhere else but her just below the neck area,
And an occasional glance in her eyes.
Then I would babble out the most unrelated string of words and sounds
In a vain effort to construct a sentence that sounded like english.

I could put no meaning to the sounds
But a lot of people said it sounded like english
Being used by parrots and conures.
I saw no good in this vision, and no vision ,in the good.

My guess is you might be in a somewhat kind of similar , almost like thing that may or may not have happened.
Situation I didn't like, or fall victim to
When I think about it except for now.

Life is what has happened and as you said he has made a bunch of new friends while you have not. He just has other things on his mind besides giving you the attention you expect.

This is change, and you have to adjust. Nothing stays the same as it was.
