    Can I claim my son as dependent who was with us for 95days and reamaining in india
    1.For the year 2010 my son has stayed in U.S for around 95 days reamaining period he was in india due to some reasons-
    Jan 2010 we went to india and were back in may again went to india in August and came in January but the thing is all his expenses were beared by us,Can I file him as my dependent ?

    2.can we show the family vocation tickets to india which was around 3000$ for the year 2010 ,if I go for itemized option while filing tax returns.

    You CAN claim your son as a dependent because he did spend SOME time in the United States in 2010.

    You CANNOT claim the vacation tickets as a deduction.
