Toilets are backing up into bathtub
I live in a home owned by my in-laws. We haven't paid them rent in 3 years but have given them $200-$250 here and there in the last 12 months. There are no written contracts or agreements on what we have to pay or anything. Our plumbing problems started almost 5years ago and I informed the owners many times of the problems and so have my kids and my husband but the last time he said the plumbing needs to be checked they said to fix it and take out of the rent, knowing that their son is unemployed and has no money. Just trying to be smart to him. Well it's their property and I think that they would want to be notified of any issues so they can fix them in case they ever want to sell the property right? They just ignore us or say get it fixed yourselves knowing I only get enough money to pay bills and tend to my 4 kids. The kitchen sink empties out the back into the yard and smells like sewage, the washer would squirt the water out of the top of the roof, now we have garden hose emptying out into yard. Now our toilets back up into the bathtub the feces and urine. Its unhealthy and smells. What do I say to the in-laws who own the property so they will fix it finally? Need advice VB

If you had paid the rent like you should have there would be no problem in them fixing the sewer.
