I have a 3 stem Delta shower faucet.
I have a 3 stem Delta shower faucet. The hot water side wouldn't completely close. I removed the old stem, spring and seat.
I purchased a replacement. Is there a trick to having the spring and seat stay in place before inserting the new cartridge?

    Hi Steve...

No real trick, per say, but it may be helpful to take a little SPIT and wet the cup washer (seat) to help it stick to the walls of the recessed well in the valve while installing the cartridge... ;)

If that fails to help then I have to wonder if you are installing the spring first and then the cup washer... should set into the well deep enough to hold in most cases?

Let us know how you make out, OK?

Sounds like you may have a hot stem in the cold water or vice versa... switch the stems if they came as a pair or you may need to purchase another stem... ;)
