    Water in back of refrigerator
Checked the ice maker for leaks. Did not see any. Seems after
Defrosting, water appears in the back on the floor. This Kenmore has a non-removable
Catch tray. Do you suppose the drain line is broken, and the water never reaches the pan.
I think the defrosted water should condense once it hits the tray?

Broken, or clogged somewhere along the way, so it's leaking in the wrong place.
Do you mean evaporate in the tray? It should.

I agree with joy. There could be ice in the drain line also. Try unplugging it for a day and leave the door open.its a great time to deep clean it also.

After the refrigerator has defrosted remove the cover(s) in the freezer section and find the drain. Take a water hose and blow out drain. It does not take much water. Then use wet-vac and clean out bottom pan and coils. You want to get it clean. I like to unload a refrigerator and take them outside and wash them out thoroughly inside and out. Make SURE to reinstall cardboard baffles EXACTLY as you found them or refrigerator will stop working. (I have found many refrigerators discarded because someone removed these baffles and did not replace them.Putting in new cardboard baffles always fixed them.)If you take refrigerator outside you can wash out coils (cover motor and defrost timer and electrical circuits). Most things are water-resistant anyway, such as the compressor. Washing out the coils and the inside will restore your refrigerator to a like-new condition and you can check the drain to see that it is working. My guess is you have a piece of food in drain like a pea (I have found many in drains.)or just gunk from something spilled. The only good way to solve the problem is to remove the cover after allowing it to get to room temp to avoid tearing any Styrofoam insulation. The only tool needed should be a Phillips screwdriver.
