My hair is dyed black, and I'm trying to get it blonde without bleaching. I don't want to bleach it because bleach sucks and I had bleached blonde before, and it was an ugly bright gold/orange, and I couldn't get rid of the brassyness! So I finally dyed black over it a few months ago, but I want blonde again. But this time, a nice, natural light ashy blonde. Anyway, my problem is that I used haircolor remover to take out the black, and it worked, getting it to a light orange. But I dyed it with a light brown and it turned out black again! A few days later I dyed it again, and it did nothing. So with my mom's advice,I stripped out the black again, and once again, it was light orange. This time I used dark blonde, thinking it wouldn't be black. But it did the same thing! I just can't get rid of my stupid black! Help?

Your hair went dark so many times because you hair was very porous from the hair stripper. Sort of damaged now I guess. So whatever you try to do it will turn out dark. Unless of course you get it all cut off and start over again. I know you won't want to leave it dark, but if you want your healthy hair back you will have to start building it up again now with moisturizers, hot oil treatments, etc.
