Statute of limitation on a judgement in GA
I have a judgement filed on me in 2001 from a credit card. In Dec 22nd 2010 they froze all ckecking accounts with my name and s.s.# attached to (even the one with my husband and mother-in-law, I thought they could not do this only the ones with my name alone) and in January they garmished my wages. They file the judgement in Jackson county where I live but the bank said the garmishment came from another county where the lawyer's office is at, my question is can they do that from a different county and after almost 10 years? By the way the last letter I received from the lawyer was in 2009.
