Fictional movie about mining
Can anyone tell me the name of a movie from the 1980's about a guy working in the mines. This guy had a rugged face, blond hair and worked in(I think) a coal mine. It was shown on the like Monday Night at the Movies - 2 hour movie. I can remmember very little about the movie but I would like to see it again.

Watched this movie @ 1990. Was about a man who became pope then sneaked out of the Vatican & lived among the people. Seems that the title had the word star in it but not for sure. K
