When I was a child under the age 5, I remember my mother having a friend name kenny who use to live with us.. He use to touch me in places where he shouldn't have.. It happened for months.. I never told my mother because I was scared she would have been put in jail.. she use to tell me all the time.. If something ever happened to you I would kill the person that did it and I would be put in jail.. so for a child, that scared the crap out of me.. So I held it all in and I was a nasty child and teenager.. I was mad at the world.. At the age 19 I finally spoke with my mother about it.. But through a email.. and I told her I didn't want to talk about it anymore.. But like I would really like this man to pay for what he has done.. Is it to late to try and find him?? What happens if he is out there touching other little girls or boys?

Unfortunately the statute of limitations is expired for one. And there isn't really much they can do with your memory, as memory can be faulty especially after so long.

I am so sorry you had to deal with this. I was molested when I was 5 and then raped at 11, and it is hard. But trust me when I tell you, work through it, let it go, and you will be OK. Trying to find him, go after him, or anything like that, will make it emensly harder on you, and won't do anything to make it better.

This is not petty theft or motor vehicle violations, this is a serious crime. Depending on what state you lived in at the time, there are no statue of limitations on this type of offense. Below is a URL to a page showing different states and their statue of limitations for different crimes.
Although you have a good point, "what if hes still out there?", jenniepepsi has a good point too, it won't make things any easier or change anything that has already happened. I know its easier said than done but be sure to weigh all options before doing anything, because trying to prosecute this many years later won't be easy. And its going to make you dwell on it that much longer. I wish you the best!

I THNK you are mistaken. The law varies state to state, but all of them still leaves the OP with an expired statute. The longest limitation I have seen is in Colorado where child molestation can be tried up to 6 years after the child reaches maturity.

But hopefuly someone with more experience and knowledge can come help

If that doesn't work, look up "statue of limitations fact sheet" using bing (or any search engine) and look for the exact phrase "Statue of Limitations Fact Sheet".

Its NCVC.org and it's a National Victims of Crime Resource Center.

It listed each state that had specific statues of limitations and what each is for.
It also listed the 32 states that have NO statue of limitations for certain sexually related crimes against children.
