It just deppends on how old this person is,and what your parents say.also, do you really like the person?id say no 13 tis not to young,just as long as you don't do anything inapropriate,or to old to do.

A lot depends on on the ages of the individuals and their concept of 'dating'. I think that a 13 year old should not be involved with anyone younger than themselves and less than a year older.

13 is the age where you learn how to interact with people who you are attracted to on more than a friendship basis. It is the time learn personal boundaries for what is appropriate behavior. It is the time to learn how to keep instinct from overpowering good judgment.

For me as a parent, 13 was too young for one-on-one dating. If I or my husband met the person (who had to be the same age as my child) and the parents, going out in a group to the movies or hanging out at the park or someone's house (with supervision) was okay. However, those were my children and communication between was as great as it can be between parent and child. Also, I knew that they knew their own minds and weren't going to be coerced into doing anything they didn't think was correct.

I have met some teens that at age 18 weren't mature enough to 'date' with parental supervision. So it depends greatly on the individuals involved.

My opinion is that 13 is too young to data one on one. Group dating (i.e. going to the mall or movies as part of mixed gender group) is OK at 13.

But this really is up to your parents. They set the rules If they have ruled against your dating it's their choice.
