    dry throat?
Me again with yet another question about Owen.

Owen is 11 months old, fixed and up to date with all of his shots deworming etc. He is eating well, going to bathroom normally as well too. Nothing has changed lately in his life except he has a new friend to play with. They get along very well with no issues.

Owen does have allergies and has to have baths with medicated shampoo. He also has Elbow dysplasia diagnosed through the vet sending his X-Rays to a specialist.

Now on to my question. Owen is constantly licking his lips(the best way I can explain it). He makes a smacking sound when doing this. I am thinking he has a dry mouth/throat. It has been going on for about a week. Owen has access to water 24/7 so it is not an issue of him not being able to drink water. Is this something I need to be concerned about? OR is it just due to the dryness in the air, I live in Alberta Canada? When do I need to be concerned and go to the vet?

Hard to say without seeing him do it.
Some dogs have very dry or very wet noses and lick them frequently, it is relatively normal.

My Crested does a chomp noise all the time, I can't really explain it lol but you know how you see people who are going to sleep yawn and then go click click click with their tongue... it's like that :D

That is it Shaz, the noise. He is licking his nose and umm lips. It is like I just gave him a doggy treat and he is getting all the crumbs.
I am taking him to the vet next month for a check-up and will mention it then.

I would say it is normal, but if you are going anyway it can't hurt to ask the vet. You never know, it could be something like a sore tooth that you haven't picked up on.
