    Nonresident California tax
I am a full time student in Texas on F-1 but worked full time on CPT in California during summer.I had to pay state taxes each month for CA, i.e. including CA-SDI.
Can I get the CA tax refund?
Total I paid 325.00 as state tax and 93.50 as CA-SDI. How much should I expect back and how should I file for it?

For the duration you lived in CA, you are resident of CA. So you will file CA tax return as part year resident.

    Thank you.
I tried filling out the 504NR form, but it somehow shows me that I owe tax of around $4000 to California state government. I checked the calculations several times, but its still the same. My details are:

    School W2:- (Texas)
    Wages: 8121.55
    Fed: 627.75

    CPT W2:- (California)
    Wages: 8500.00
    Fed: 1003.00
    CA-SDI: 93.50
    State Income Tax (CA): 325.00

Also, how much federal return should I expect? I am an Indian student on F1 visa.

    Are you doing 540NR manually?
Did you complete line 31 to 42?

For federal, your total income is $16622. You get exemption of $3650 plus deduction as per tax treaty. So figure out your taxable income. Then figure out income tax.

    Thank you!
I am done with my taxes, but while sending form 540NR to California, should I attach both W-2's I have (one from California and one from Texas), or just the one from California?.
