I'm fitting a bathtub drain with abs and welding the pieces together. When it comes to fitting it to the p-trap riser that's threaded do I need to use teflon tape ? Thanks for any help

Hi all My problem is that I need to attach a -6 an braided hose to slightly smaller hard pipe. Obviously it dose not clamp down very well and leeks badly:eek: is there I way I can get around this by not changing the hose as the other end is paired up with the correct size hard line!
