First HARD freeze in NM. My well pump clicks
After -16 deg. Temps in So New Mexico, my new well of 2 years will not pump. I have heated all of the exposed lines [they were in 2" of insulation}. When I flip the power on, the pressure gauge comes up to 40lbs. And then the pump starts clicking. Still only a trickle comes out of the hose. 1. Do I have adequate pressure in the tanks [they are suppose to be at 40 psi.] 2. Is there air in the line? And if so how do I prime the well? 3. Or does the timing gap need to be reset? I have not had water for 6 days and it's getting a little ripe here!

Is there water coming from tanks, or is one of the lines from the tank perhaps frozen ?

What type of well do you have? A dug well (a big hole in the ground) or a drilled well (a pipe going down)?
    How deep is the well?
How many pipes go down the well?
Where is the pressure gauge, on a pipe or no the tank?
Where is the pressure switch, on the pipe or connected to the tank with a small tube?

What happens when you turn the pump off? Does the 40 Lbs stay on the pressure gauge?

You say you only get a trickle out of the hose. Is the pump and well remote from the house? Is that hose the piping goes to the house?

Is the tank located where it could have frozen?
