    Fire ants mounts maybe
    Have a long blacktop driveway, with a thin crack. Along the crack line
    Is mounts of sand. I tried pouring fire ant bait, into the mount for the last year
    With no results. I have never seen an ant. I brush the mount away and in a couple
    Of days the mount of sand appears again. I wonder if they are fire ants, and what other
    Insecticide may work better.

    Have you given thought to vacuming out the crack and trying to repair it with either driveway patch or but heating up some roofing tar and pouring into the crack as a patch?

    You could kill 2 birds and a few ants with one stone :)

    Sand in a crack can cause further expansion if you have frosting / freezing in your area. Its amazing how much power little ice crystals can have.
