Hi! My and my girl friend had sex in the first week of January 2011. She had her period in the last week of December 2010, probably, 24th or 25th of December. Its 2 Feb now, she didn't had her periods and we are afraid of pregnancy because it was unprotected sex and we are not in a situation to handle this. She took ECP medicine before 24 hours of sex. Please tell me what can be done if she gets pregnant. Is there any way of natural abortion or is she fine and going to have her periods?
Secondly, she got some bleeding today, in the morning. Now almost 12 hours have passed and she had no bleeding. Was it menstrual bleeding or what?

When you said she took ECP "before" 24 hours of sex, do you mean she took it before you had sex, or before 24 hours had passed after you had sex?

ECP is meant to be used after unprotected sex, within the first 72 hours... the sooner after the unprotected sex, the better.

I would have her wait a few more days and see if the bleeding she had was just her period starting up and whether she has more in the next few days. If she doesn't, she should try a pregnancy test.

If she is pregnant, you will have some decisions to make. If she isn't pregnant, learn from the scare and be sure to always, always use protection. Even then there will be a slight chance pregnancy can occur, but it will be much less.

She took ECP after sex and within 24 hours. She had some bleeding yesterday for sometime and then no bleeding up till now. She used the pregnancy test strip and came negative. On the other hand, she has her pains, as in periods, like backache and others. Can you suggest me anything because we are not ready for any kind of pregnancy.
