    Submersible water pump?
    I have a well with a submersible pump the water has fine sand and now it is just sucking up mud? Is my well dry?

    No, but it sounds like the walls of the cavity at the bottom of the well has caved in.

    I think HK hit the nail on the head. If that is the case, the water may clear up. Run an outside hydrant for several hours to see if the water tends to clear.
