Got a call saying I was going to be sued if I didn't pay 700.00 by the next day
I got a call today from an unknown incoming call ,the person on the line said he was a process server trying to serve me papers and I should call this 866 number and speak with them and see if they can tell me what its about.. so I call only to be told that I called and activated a preapproved creidt card from capital one credit card and that they are saying I owe 3,300.00 on a 150.00 crdit line plus 2500.00 for legal expense but if I pay 700.00 tomorrow they will pull them out of legal.. now my question is ,1.I haven't yet been served 2.the women said they would put liens on things we are paying on even though they aren't even paid for.3.that I was going to be sued.is any of this just a scare tactic or can they do this? And if I do get summons to court how do I handle it.

It is a con, first you can not owe 3000 dollars on a 150 card you never asked for and never used. Did you actually apply for and get a credit card, and if so , did you use the card. And ask for any and everything in writing, and if you owe it, let them sue, and make them prove it is legal in court. They are lying, trying to scare you, don't talk to them on the phone, if it is not in writing, they are lying. |
