Cold Weather Septic Smell in Basement
    Hello.

On two occasions over the last few weeks I have experienced heavy septic smells in my basement - not in any other part of the house. Septic guy checked the tank and said it looked good.

We have been hammered with snow and very low temperatures (-3 last week). I'm guessing that it is the roof vent but was hoping for some insight. Does the fact that the smell is limited to the basement give a clue?

    Thanks!
