Clothes dryer drum hits the inside of the cover as it spins
After months of putting heavy things on top of my dryer, it's cover has sunk in enough to cause the drum to rub against the inside of the cover, making a loud metal on metal noise. Can I take the cover off and push the metal back out where it belongs? Is there another way to strengthen the cover? It's almost impossible not to automatically place 'things', such as folded clothes or laundry soap on top. (I've had many dryers in the past, and this has never happened to me before).
